US Population by Age

While much has been made of the USA's aging population, I've been telling clients for years that the most popular age in the US isn't 55 or 60. It's actually 25.

The echo boom makes up the largest five-year age cohort - there are 700,000 more 22-26 year-olds (23.2 million) than 51-55 year-olds (22.5 million):

This chart delineates the generations (boomer / X / Y / Z / millenial) and does sort of show that while we perceive cultural differences, there are not clear lines of demarcation:
