Thursday Reading List

Warm week here in New York - let's kick off Thursday with some reads.

During Market Turmoil, Just Listen to Your Financial Plan

"Think of these forecasters like circus clowns. They are perfectly harmless over in the corner trying to attract attention, juggling flaming bowling pins. As long as you don’t try to join them, you won’t get burned when the pins drop. Just keep a safe distance, and enjoy the show."

DeLoreans to go back to the future and into production

An electric-motor Delorean would be something I'd give a kidney for.

"Wynne said the company will build replica 1982 DeLoreans under a low-volume manufacturing bill approved by the federal government. He estimates he has enough supplies in stock to build about 300 cars. He hopes to go from building one a month to one a week."

The scientific quest to cure aging

Is there any scientific reason why we age? It may just be a leftover relic of our biological past. It's weird to imagine an ageless world though.

"We are finding genes and molecules that we can take as a pill that would slow down every disease from Alzheimer's to diabetes to cancer plus give us more energy during our whole lives. Side effects would be living longer, but the ultimate goal is there will be a future -- maybe it's only a decade or two away -- where people won't have to worry about getting these diseases in their 60s or 70s but can put that off to 100 or 110."

New York Igloo Becomes Airbnb Rental For Limited Time

"New studio apartment in NYC on the market. 2,500/mo."
